Most have success with Black Dog magazines. I have. Some have a feed lip that extends a bit too far, a little filling fixes that, if you don't file too far.

Otherwise, polish the crap out of it, feed ramps and the slide area. I use Ciener bolts and they work great after a bit of fluff and buff. Ammo can also make or break it. Avoid lead bullets, use copper plated. I found Federal Champions to work best as does Aguila Super Maximums.

Shoot a couple rounds of .223 after 250 rounds of .22LR to clear the gas port. I always clean the barrel/chamber first before changing bolts/ammo.

What kind of conversion kit are you using?

IIRC, the Plinker Tactical magazine is intended for S&W 15-22.

I would look into the bettermag adapter and some S&W mags imo. Do some research though, because the adapter I have is meant to be used with a dedicated upper, and not a conversion bolt. I have a dedicated upper and the mag adapter with S&W M&P15-22 mags are awesome. YMMV

+1 for BD. My CMMG was good to go out of the gate. Feeding issues usually lead to mags. Try a new mag. Black dog if you can. I prefer the smoke to see how many are in there.

Yes you are using the wrong back BUT if you get the better mag adapter like a previous poster said you can get it to work plus have the use of your bolt lock.
I use black dogs as well in a sig 522 and they work great as well but don't have a true bolt hold open.

The Boonie Packer mag adapter works with the S & W mags.
Only problem we have found is the inconsistency of the S & W mag feed lip height. If too high, the bolt drags and they need to be trimmed down.
