S&W .22 revolver

Hey guys, does anybody have an approximate value for a S&W Model 18-4 .22lr? My Grandfather has given me his and it doesn't have original box or papers but my lord is it beautiful looking! I'll post pics ASAP to help give better perspective. It does have a super clean bore and has really nice bluing...

Best way to get an idea is search completed auctions on Gunbroker for similar guns that actually sold. You need to be signed up over there to search completed. Current listings and ASKING prices aren't of too much use. Completeds for the last couple of months show a ballpark of anywhere from $500 to $700, mostly in the $500's.

What's it worth? Who cares, DON'T SELL IT!
I'm not saying you are asking for price to sell. If you are, please don't unless you are very desperate for $. Then, sell it to someone you can trust that will sell it back when things get better.
I cherish the two handguns my grandfather left me when I was 18. Now at 55 I'm sure glad I never let them go.

Exactly that. Don't sell it, shoot it, enjoy it, and make it a family heirloom, because that's what it is.

They are $600-$700 in very nice condition.I pay that anyway.
As others said,from family I would hesitate to sell the thing.
I assume you are keeping it and just want to know value.
I say shoot it.Compare it with another gun made recently.You will find that gun is wonderful to shoot.
Your grandfather has given you a great gift.If he held it in his hands and used it,even better.

Dad gave me one awhile back, box, S&W brown paper the works. As others have already mentioned keep it. You'll look back years from now and be glad you did.

Picked one up last year for $400.Like new in box.Would have paid more without hesitation.

Don't store in padded case in safe.Closed padded gases are poor long term storage.Can attract moisture.

Would say $550 to $600 with no box.

It was your grandfather's gun. It is priceless. Please keep it, shoot it, care for it, and explain to your kids what a treasure it is before you pass it down to them. Beautiful gun. You are a lucky soul.

honestly keep it ! too nice and rare PLUS family ties. Imagine when one day hopefully your grandchild can shoot it
