Picked Up my New Ruger Single Six

Finally got my new Ruger Single Six. I say finally because I was at the range/ffl last week to get it, and the ATF delayed my transfer for no apparent reason. It's a 50 mile round trip out there, so I waited a while to go back after they called. First revolver for me. I learned to shoot handguns with a Single Six at age 7, but have only owned semi-autos. Did the transfer, ran a couple of patches down the barrel and hit the range. The gun shot pretty well, although there's a lot of trigger creep. It's brand new, so hopefully the trigger will improve with use. Didn't really do anything great at 15 and 25 yards, but I had some decent groups at 30 ft, shooting at circle drawn around a quarter. The one shown is 6 shots offhand at 30 ft, a 3/4" group. Got a long way to go before I can equal the results I get with my 22/45, but did enjoy the new revolver. Got a pretty fair deal on it. I bought it on Gunbroker on Memorial Day, so bidding was a little slow. Got it for $375, but the shipping was a bit of a gouge at $35. Nice gun, very nice finish.

They are a lot of fun to shoot. Fairly accurate too. They are fun to shoot with .22 shorts (if you can find them anywhere anymore).

I love my Single Six and will never get rid of it. Mine is stupid accurate and I shoot it out to 50 yards. More fun than you should be allowed to have!

Way back used to shoot 50 yards with .22 magnum at Sharp Park. Lots of fun. They had a steel plate out just over 100 yards. It was fun trying to hit it with .22 LR and .22 magnum. Nice hearing the different tones of a hit.

YUP! Shorts are hard to find. Aguila subsonics are nice though.

I remember the days when shorts were cheaper than LR. Now it's as if they're some exotic that's worth more. I have a couple boxes of CCI Quiet I want to try out.

I used CB's almost exclusivly on my Marlin Glenfield bolt action. Great for late nite rat sniping

Thanks--I did a few repetitions of the "marrying the trigger" and you really can feel the difference. Can't say I really like the idea of leaving a part just hanging there, but I suppose you can always put it back. I might try that or might try one of the aftermarket spring kits. Will probably see how it feels after a few hundred more rounds before I do anything else.
