Don't know about the eraticator, but I have two of the 8.5 x 24 44mm AO Tactical scopes on Savage MKII's for 4 or 5 years now. I have been very happy with them, and have no issues. Mueller is a good scope value for the dollar.

I have two Mueller 8-32x44 TD scopes, one on a CZ 455 Varmint, the other on a Brno #4. I am well pleased with both.

It's a good scope. They also have a NEW Mueller "Mil-Dot" 8-32x44 Side Focus Scope (introductory sale) for $200 as long as supplies last.

Exposed turrets and comes with a free 3" sun shade:

If I had something to mount it on, I'd be all over this one.....

I've got an older Mueller 4-16x50 AO Red Dot Sport Dot that failed some years back when the front objective started rattling around. I contacted them, sent it back on my dime (about $12), and they sent me a brand new one in just a few days. Customer service was excellent.

That scope's fine at lower mags, but gets dark with very tight eye relief at high mags, and I rarely use it above 10x. The dot is a low-light dot, not a sunlight dot, and the eyepiece is pretty long, which can make it tricky to mount in some mounts if they don't have a lot of forward offset.

They may have improved the optical performance on their newer models; this one's from 2007.

How nice of a 10/22 are you building? That would depend on saving up for a Vortex or not.

I owned the Mueller APT, it's a great scope for the money but it is still a cheap scope that should go on a cheap rifle. I returned it and went with the Mueller 8-32 SF Tactical model (mentioned above). It was quite a bit nicer then the APT and is worth the money but it's still a cheaper type of scope and would be a good fit for a cheaper long range shooting rifle that you didn't have to make much adjustments with. The tracking and zero hold on the Mueller still wasn't all I hoped it would be. I had it on my CZ 455 Varmint for a while and it was good and I was somewhat pleased with it but I was still not 100% satisfied.

I stumbled across a deal on the Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 PA that I just couldn't pass up. I figured I could sell it if it wasn't leaps and bounds better then the Mueller and still break even on money. Well, it turns out the Vortex Viper is leaps and bounds better. Not by a small margin but by a HUGE margin. The glass is substantially better, the turrets are substantially better, and the tracking is substantially better. I ended up getting rid of the Mueller and have not looked back. I have no desire at all to get something better. The Vortex meets all my needs and then some. I don't have any desire to look through a higher end Vortex or NightForce even.

They say you should spend as much on the glass as you do the rifle and I actually didn't because I got a great deal but the Vortex I have retails for about what my rifle cost me so that statement held true for me. I had to learn my lesson the hard way... twice... But once I bit the bullet and spent the money like I should have from the beginning I realized how amazed I could be when you do things right and listen to the hundreds of people that say "Don't skimp on the glass". I read it hundreds of times on here and on RimfireCentral, but I did not listen... Twice. I was too cheap.

That being said... Don't skimp on the glass and buckle down and spend the money equal or more on the scope as you did the rifle.

The Vortex Cross Fire is a good reasonably priced scope too. I have one on my daughters 10-22 custom target build, and it's very clear at the ranges (100 yards max) that we use it at.
