    Is the 22LR...

Is the 22LR only good for rifle? I have a MK22 (Scar clone) that basically eats anything I feed. However, I also have a Siq Mosquito that FTF for every 1 out 3 rounds when I used the same ammo, which is the Remington below. I was thinking maybe the Sig uses different kind of ammo since it's a handgun.

Pistols in 22lr tend to be more ammo finicky than rifles.

And golden bullets are pretty low end rounds with a sorted history of quality.

And in pistols sometimes the 22lr round is to under powered to cycle the slide.

In your Sig try some CCI mini mags or bulk Federal.

Mosquito's are notoriously finicky about ammunition.

So is, for example, the Walther P22 - very picky. I wouldn't even bother with golden bullets.

But out of a rifle, like the M&P 15-22, golden bullets tend to be edible. But still not a quality round.

Get CCI minimag for your mosquito. That gun was designed to eat CCI

No. It can also be used in handguns chambered for 22LR.

With your Mosquito, try gripping the gun more tightly and lock your left wrist in place when you shoot. See if that helps reduce your malfunctions.

I think I got the right one. I forgot it should be the MINIMAG.

What's been said about .22s being ammo picky is certainly true in my experience. I have about a dozen different .22LR rifles and pistols and each has its own preference about ammo. Try something with a little more power than the Remington GB (which, by the way, my dedicated AR and Glock conversions eat up but my Ruger 10/22 won't touch) and see if the Mosquito doesn't run a little better.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

FWIW, on my first trip to the range with a new MP22 handgun, I ran thru a whole box (525) of golden bullets without a single hiccup/FTF/FTE.

I also have a Sig. To start clean the gun and light lube on the rails. Need to shoot ammo rated for at least 1200FPS. ( velocity willl be printed on the box).
If it is a band new gun, need to shoot ~ 400rd of CCI mini-mag to break it in.
After that won't be so picky. Try to avoid hollow points, stay with round nose.

^^^ This. If the GB goes bang the pistol functions.

                            No.

I have been a "Die hard" .22 rifle fan most of my life, but always wanted a .22 pistol. I finally got a S&W M&P.22 (mainly because I love the M&P series, and it was falling off the list )

I haven't put many rounds down range with the M&P.22, but so far I love the gun

Got a bunny with it the other day

The answer to your question - "NO"

I have a Mosquito. It only likes 3 brands of ammo - CCI Mini Mags, Federal Champion and Remington Golden Bullets.

                              Obviously, your mileage varies

                              Good luck!
