    10/22 auto bolt release legal?

Is there anything illegal about buying or modifying the bolt release as seen in link below so that it will snap forward easy?

I see no reason why it would be illegal. You still have to pull the bolt back for it to release, not a full auto.
Anyhow. I did the mod for auto bolt release. Best thing you can do on a 10/22

All it allows you to do is to release the bolt that is locked back without having to use the button under the receiver. There is nothing illegal about it.

I will say that should be the first thing you do. It can be a pain to get the bolt released without the mod and it takes two hands.

It's perfectly legal and something Ruger should have started doing at the factory years ago.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

In addition to that modification is there a way to make the bolt stay open on an empty magazine? These are my biggest complaints when shooting my 10/22.

while I could see no good reason for it to be, dose not mean that the Libs did not make it so.

No. Well, they did make a kit but you have to have modified/special mags. Not worth it.

There is a new version that does not require modified magazines. It requires a different bolt that cost $129.

Well, it does have the word "auto" in the name.. I'm surprised there hasn't been a bill addressing this issue.

Did not know that. So, in order to have bolt hold open, the kit is $175. No thanx.
