10/22 Barrel Mounted Scope?

Ok so our aluminum receiver's have this heavy bull barrel out of stainless bolted to it and and just hanging off it. I can see as the gun heats up or even before, there can be flex in this with a floating barrel. Has anyone used a barrel with a scope mount over the top of the receiver? Never seen one, but have heard they are out there.

Do you mean mounting the scope rings/mount actually to the bbl itself (forward of the receiver)?

Never tried one myself, but to me, seems like a solid solution.

volquartsen was the brand I have seen. I heard there were others. Makes sence to me a lightweight aluminum receiver with a 3-4 bl barrel hanging over the end of it. Looking to build a tac driver and seems reasonable to me, but is it worth it, or anything to gain.

I saw that on the web site! I shoot match bolts in both rimfire and centerfire (not semis)... and that's just something I wouldn't/couldn't/shouldn't do!
