    Reliability advice

I've had a 22/45 for a couple years now, I just picked up a buckmark a few weeks ago, I love them both but they are both picky with bulk ammo and I'm wondering if they're is a permanent fix to either of them to just make it totally reliable with all types of ammo. A kit to buy and install? Some work that can be done? The feed ramp on the buckmark is a flat ramp and there is a step before it goes into the chamber, the white box Win bullets jams right up on that step cause the bullet has a little step on it. Any advice?

are they both 100% stock or have they been modded?

How many rounds have you put through them?

What bulk ammo have you used?

My buckmark rifle gets picky when it's dirty, but the rifle is still really tight. I don't think I had a full brink through the barrel.

My 10/22, just hates golden bullets...majority of everything else is just fine. But the 10/22 is fully broken in.

.22 autos are too damn picky and with all the .22lr being overpriced or harder to find... I just shoot bolt action .22's. As far as the feed ramp, I'd go to a gunsmith and see what they have to say. I'd just leave it alone and shoot what works but I can't say I blame you for obvious reasons.

Both those pistols should be good to go and very reliable with bulk standard velocity ammo. winchester bulk has had a very bad reputation as of late. If possible, try CCI,Remington or Federal and see if you still have problems. If so, there may be a problem with the pistol.

I also have a 22/45...and that pistol has been totally modded to be a competition pistol. In the beginging it would only be 100% reliable with no FTF & No fte with CCI-Mini mags; anything else would be like 45% reliable...I tried almost all types of bulk ammo: Wild Cats, Blazers, Federal 510, Lightning, 745, etc...nothing would run. After about 1,000 rounds of mini-mags...it's starting to be reliable with Federal 745 bulk ammo. But my example shouldn't be like your pistols if they are stock...unless you have really low round counts through each pistol. Most will say, if your pistols can't run CCI-Mini Mags reliable, then something is wrong with the pistol or the magazines

The ruger is way broken in, I have an aftermarket sear that the previous owner had in it but I haven't tried it yet, the browning is close to being broke in but still basically new. The ruger is usually happy with most the 550 ct federal, fed auto match and blazers, with the occasional stovepipe every 40-50 rds. The browning wouldn't feed Win, and would stovepipe both federals crimping the shell down tight with another round chambered. I think it did better with blazers and I had some cci with me the last time but I was discouraged and left without trying them.

No idea about the Buckmark but the 22/45 isn't known to be fussy about it's food. Magazines? Gun clean? Oiled? Winchester is one brand I haven't tried in mine but if Federal or GB or Blazer go bang, the gun cycles.

My Buckmark was a little tight when I first got it. I cleaned it well used a small amount of grease on the slide and ran about 200 rds of CCI mini mags to break it in. Now it shoots just about anything. My advise: Clean, lube and shoot the heck out of it. It will fix it's self. Very fun gun to shoot.

Some good advice about the quality ammo now if I can find more I'll start trying it out, I have some cci mini mags and some blazers I just didn't bring them on the last trip. I guess my question is can I do anything to either gun to make it shoot bulk ammo?
The most common problem (stovepiping) does tell me that the cheap ammo is the cause of this, between 2 different 10/22's, the buckmark and the 22/45 I see a fair share of this problem, another issue is I need to get out more often I feel like more of a collector then an avid shooter.
