Been thinking about getting one, sorta' bored with my 22/45.

Any reason other than the rail to go with the Contour over the Practical?

I really like the fiber optic front on the Practical.

If I want to put a RDS on the Practical, do I lose the rear sight altogether?

How much and what kind of rail adapter?

How expensive/hard to find are mags for these?

That picture looks great, but doesn't answer any of my questions. (I take it back, I do see that you still have a rear sight)

How are the triggers on these, compared to a 22/45?

Never owned a 22/45, but love my Buckmark Plus UDX! Bone stock, has a great trigger, and is a tack driver with Federal bulk!

I have a buckmark and a 22/45. Out of the box the buckmark had a better trigger. Both can be made better. On the buckmark you can lighten the pull by flipping the sear spring over. It really works. http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=378681

I rolled with a buckmark for a long time but I like the ruggedness of the rugers...

the only real differences between the two is the rail & barrel.

something to keep in mind however, with any on the buckmarks that come with grips (URX UDX) you are very limited as far as grips options, unless it has changed recently, where as the standard buckmark has many more.

the big advantage in going with the buckmark is the ability to change the barrel vs the rugers where the barrel is integrated with the receiver, as such must go through a FFL and then the roster comes in to play.... or rather ends that argument.

if you ultimatly end up getting one there are a few tricks that every buckmark owner should know - OK I can only think of one right now; plumbers tape on the threads of the take down screws.

I owned one in the 1980s, but sold it to help pay for college. I recently acquired another from a fellow Calgun member, and kick myself for selling the first one. Whichever one you go with, you'll be glad to have it in your collection…the front sight is pretty easy to change out if you shoot in different conditions.

Wife has a Buckmark Contour. I have a 22/45 (got it today.)
The buckmark has a better trigger, imo. Both in the actual mechanical workings of the trigger, and the ergonomics of it.
