    Phoenix Arms HP22---Ammo Question

For those of you who happen to own a Phoenix Arms HP22---What ammo works best in it for you?---It calls for low velocity, so I did get some CCI Standard for it---But that stuff is sort of pricey---Also the cheaper stuff is higher velocity???---Thanks

Unfortunately, that is your best option if you don't want to crack the frame. Some get lucky shooting regular ammo but it will be inevitable. Also, I think it says it is best to use LRN.

I used Blazers at 1235 FPS and still cracked the frame. Got a new one sent and sold it. Great gun but it was just too frustrating to have to deal with the warranty replacement.

Ive shot the better part of a federal bulk pack and a bunch of remington golden bullets through mine and they cycle great. I am not worried about any frame crack, because lets face it the gun cost about as much as my cable and internet costs each month. if it crack im gonna keep shootin it until it turns into a jam-o-matic. I have tried about 50 rounds of the standard velocity and its fine, but like you stated more costly.

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I Have one in jail at the moment. It seems to be impossible to find ammo for it. I wanted to take my kids out to use it and I can't seem to find any standard velocity ammo in stock. Any ammo for that matter!

Wonder if shot peening a new frame would keep it from cracking?
