Barrel ID Needed - .22 pistol

I picked up a mystery barrel at the swap meet this weekend, and cant figure out what it goes to. Posed the question in the handgun forum and got nuthin.
any imput would be appreciated.

Marlin firearm...from where it was made. North Haven, CT

"JM" proofmark confirms it's a Marlin barrel

and it looks to be a cut down rifle barrel.

Seems pretty obvious, but the manufacturer wouldn't cut the info off like that. That writing is usually done within the first half of a barrel. And whoever cut it probably just wanted a felony-inducing SBR....then reconsidered and sold it in parts.
