    Jailed a ruger 22/45 today

Ordered the bushing and lci delete from Tandemkross.

I'm thinking about taking my TRS-25 off my AR and putting it on the 22/45. Though I'm kind of tempted to try a See All as well.

Any other must haves for this I can get before I pick it up?

    Ultimate Clip loader
    Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor
    Extra Magazines and more magazines

I've tried many sights...and I still prefer the C-More sights ( Not installed on mine yet ).

Volquartsen trigger and sear make a nice combo. The bolt stop trick or TK device is a popular upgrade. I ran a TRS 25 on one of mine for a while and it was a great combo. I use open sights on it now but, I may go back to the TRS in the future.

Rimfirecentral.com has a whole section dedicated to the 22/45. Beware though as they can become addicting.

On my 22/45 I also have a Volquartson sear in my gun. This made my ok trigger pull real clean and about 3lbs. If you need mags here is the best price, $5.95 shipping. http://www.gregcotellc.com/cart/inde...oducts_id=1437

I just got mine out of jail and took it to the range today. Nice pistol. I want another, darn 30 day wait. I got home and the lci delete and bushing were waiting for me. TK has fast shipping. Install was super easy.

BTW CCI Blazer is dirty but it ran fine. That LCI caused a stove pipe, glad its gone now. Slingshot mod is next once its back in stock.

Rimfirecentral.com has a diy for the slingshot mod if you want to save a few bucks. Should be in the 22/45 section.

Love my 22/45. Haven't done too much to it. New grips, VQ extractor, Tandemkross bushing, and Williams Fire Sights. Not crazy about the sights, as they're not all that bright, but the rest is great. 1 had about 1% FTE's before I put in the extractor, then went over 1000 straight round without a malfunction. My advice, put a good 300-400 rounds through it before making any mods. On the off chance that it had to go back to Ruger, you'd have to put the factory parts back in, or they would, and charge you to do it.

It was actually a pretty simple mod. I'd still like to have the one with the spring though.

The VQ sear is great, but if you really want a massive improvement you should add the VQ trigger assembly. With mine properly adjusted I have less than 5mm max travel between takeup and overtravel. Super smooth and as close to my custom 1911 triggers as I have ever felt.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

Broken out, and I threw a brick through it at the range today.

I think I might get that VQ trigger assembly. The 22/45 trigger feels a little sloppy, especially compared to my wife's buckmark contour.

Sadly, the mec-gar magazines I got don't work very well. Half the time the round wouldn't chamber, and the bolt would close on it. Wasted a bit of .22
The knobs dont let you pull the follower down very easily either.
