I have the same Ruger model with maybe 1,500 rounds through the pipe and no nicks. I'm interested to find out what happened? Maybe contact Ruger?

The edge there is sharp and thin so it's probably just a harmless burr.

Looks like a FTE caused that nick. If it doesn't affect operation then I wouldn't worry about it.

Looks like burr from manufacture, just polish it out. Personally, I would not sweat it.

I really doubt there is "an issue". It appears to be nothing more than cosmetic to me. I sure wouldn't waste my money sending it to anyone to fix a non existent "problem". I'd just put a million rounds through it and then, if I got bored, maybe I'd send it in for a once over.

He also has an imprint of the bolt into the barrel face. Seems like the metal wasnt hardened properly or??

Yep! Something's not as intended. It's your gun and may be for generations. Get it right...send it to Ruger!

Since your not a gunsmith,it's worth the 30 bucks to have Ruger check it out.

Looks like Ruger buffed out the burr, test fired and sent back, they also put my "missing" mag disconnect back in...lol. Nice turnaround getting the pistol back so fast.

Post a pic when you can. That didn't take too long - good on Ruger.

Spoke to Ruger yesterday and the customer service was outstanding! I do have to pay $30 to ship pistol to them but they will correct the issue and ship pistol back with a turnaround of 5-7 days!

Sounds like a good solution. In my experience Ruger gets the gun back in a week.
