    Can't stop buying rifles!

Last purchase was a Henry, great rifle by the way. Now I got weak and bought a Marlin Model 60. I have guns I haven't finished building only to be sidelined by something chambered in 22lr! I need help. lol

So you come to Calguns seeking help for your gun addiction?!

Kinda' like asking your dealer to help you get off drugs, isn't it?

I like minimization, therefore I do not covet a huge arsenal.

But there are certain things that every man or woman needs.

I'll start with women -- the fairer sex.

All women need either a 380 pistol or a 38 revolver. If they can handle a 9mm pistol then that is even better. Period. End of story. That's all a woman really needs.

Unless she is a huntress. Then she also needs either a 243 or a 308.

      Maybe a 410 shotgun too.

Overall though, women have much less needs than men, when it comes to guns.

Men need at least a 45ACP. But if the 45ACP is too heavy, then a 9mm is fine too. I started out with a 9mm and finally graduated to a 45ACP eventually. A pistol is the very best self defense weapon. It can go everywhere you go. It can sleep under your pillow. It is perfect.

In addition, men need a carbine. This is because a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state. Has nothing to do with self defense -- that is a different story but also true.

Also, men need a shotgun. A shotgun is the best home defense weapon against gangs or home invasions -- the most popular recent form of crime against families. A shotgun will also stop a riot. Works like a talisman.

If you ride a horse, then you also need a lever action carbine.

And if you hunt, then you also need a 270 or larger more powerful scoped rifle.

Then there are collections. I wish I had a collection of every carbine since 1648, or every Winchester since 1873.

So many needs, so many guns, so little time.

      Feel better now?

Just make sure to have enough time to enjoy everything you get.

While I know my interests change, I noticed a trend after going nuts in triathlon eventually leading to owning one of every kind of bike.

I won't stop until I have one of every caliber and purpose.

Bicycles are the same issue -- you need one of every different kind for every different kind of bike race you are competing in.

I was looking at new bicycles in Mountain View yesterday, and some of them run $6,000.00 !!! That's as much as a motorcycle !!!

He speaks the truth, I really like my XT-22...

                            You should totally get one.

Ooh, and the 15-22 is fun too.

                            There, does that help?
