    Teeko,

    Sounds like your 597 just needs a good cleaning. I've used bulk Winchester, Federal, Aguila, and some very old Remington Peters in mine. I make it a point to do a good cleaning after several hundred rounds. One thing I can recommend to make dealing with the guide rods and guide springs easier is the Gunsmither tool. http://www.gunsmithertools.com/597-r...pringtrap.html
    Well worth the price. Check into it.

        Watch the video for the Gunsmither tool. That convinced me. It wasn't too hard to convince me after I bent one of the guide rod springs nicely trying to get it back in. Figured the cost of replacement springs and shipping from good ole Larry would add up. Could see bending them could have become a habit.
