Will it fire from the folded position? If so, while folded, does it still meet over-all length requirements for a rifle?

Those are your keys to the legality of this firearm in CA, I believe.

Yes it will fire from the folded position.

It is 26.5 inches folded so yes it makes the Federal requirement.

The California 30" requirement does not apply here. The Ruger 10/22 is a rimfire rifle so the CA Assault Weapon Ban doesnt apply.

That would make a great backpacking rig.

Does the folded stock still fit in the carry bag that the TDs come with?

Volquartsen, I think, is the only Manufacturer that makes the .17WSM in a semi auto, and thier version of a "takedown" will eventually have a barrel for it.

As a matter of fact, they do have the .17hmr in semi-auto rifle, take down version. I think it's called a "Fusion". I wish they would make it in a pistol version....

They have overcome the .17HMR semi auto "slam firing" issue that all the other manufacturers had not, either by choice or no desire to resolve.

                    Yea or nay?

What are your thoughts on this stock?

Is it a nice solid stock, or does it have some slop? What do you like about it, and what are some things you don't like about it? Does it fit the Ruger parts perfectly or do you need to make some "adjustments"?

Maybe you can score it form a scale of 1 to 10 .

Here's my wife's Boyds Evo SS takedown stock. It needs a little massaging and the receiver is just sitting in there right now but you get the idea. Sights are Skinner.

                              Do Want!

The price is a bit high but the coolness factor is even higher.
