Best 1911 .22lr conversion kit?

I've owned the Marvel Unit 1 and Unit 2, Kimber, Tactical Solutions, Advantage arms, and probably one or two that I'm forgetting.

Marvel Unit 1 is hands down the most accurate. The Kimber was the most forgiving and easiest to feed and maintain. I currently still have the Tac Sol kit. I find it a good balance between the Marvel and Kimber and it has an optics rail.

Best 1911 .22lr conversion kit?

I own 2 Kimber kits right now and have nothing but praise for them. So, it must be a hit and miss thing. I am using them on Kimber frames if that makes any difference.

I have used the Kimber kit on a Kimber, on a Springfield, and on a Colt. All 100%

I've a Kimber Conversion On a Colt Series 80 GC frame and it functions flawlessly. It cycles with CCI SV. Agulia SV doesn't have enough power to cycle the action 100% Accuracy is pretty good, better than I expected anyway.

So...3 1/2 years ago I recommended the Marvel unit 1 or 2.
In the mean time I did more research, mostly on other forums specializing in 1911's. The consensus was the Nelson was the best you can get today...this is what I went with.
Let me tell you, I couldn't be happier. You have a choice of a couple different configurations and they build it accordingly. It's a fine conversion and very popular at the range.

Imo, the "best" is still one made by Fred Kart. But they're no longer made and a tad pricey if you can find one. On a good day with me shooting, it's hard to tell the difference by group size between the Kart conversion and my Model 41.

Currently, I'd suggest the Nelson or Marvel. I'd avoid a Ciener kit like the plague...if you're looking for accuracy, just spend the money...

I have to Marvel Unit 1 kits that are built into dedicated guns on 2011 aluminum frames with STI polymer grips. They use Nelson 2011 widebody magazines. They feed 100 percent and the Marvel accuracy is insane. I fought with my first kit for years trying to get it to feed reliably from single stack magazines on various 1911 frames. Forget it, the absolute crap shoot of magazines made by everybody and their grandma to who knows what specs just are not reliable. The 2011 frame is the way to go because there are just handful of the frames and magazines and the specs a lot more consistent than 1911 frames and magazines.
With Marvel, the other issue I have had is balancing the recoil spring and hammer spring weights to get reliable cycling with the ammo you want to use. This can be an annoying process. Other than that, I have been very happy.
