    .22 WMR AR-15?

Has anyone ever seen or even considered the idea of a .22 Magnum AR-15?
Even if it needed to be gas operated, it's worth considering to get around comply with the AWB.
Forgive me if I'm missing an obvious thread, but search turned up nothing about this subject.
    Please discuss.

Excel Arms makes a .22 magnum rifle that is configured like a AR but I believe it is a blow back design : http://www.excelarms.com/rifles/xseriesrifle.html

I agree a .22 mag AR is a great idea.

Franklin Armory is introducing a 17 WSM AR. It is gas operated, which is a first for a rimfire I believe.

If they could make a gas operated .22 mag rifle is would be both safer and more reliable than a blowback.
