Does anyone know if this can be done? I don't see why not... but I'm getting ready to buy one and I really want the Takedown version but only if I can later swap in a bull barrel. Otherwise I will get the 10/22 Target model...

yeah, its a custom job currently. no issues machining it down and swapping over takedown components.
