    Savage 64fxp scope suggestions

Recently purchased a savage 64fxp and it comes with a cheap crossman scope. Just wondering if you had any suggestions for a scope that would fit it and was moderately priced.
    Thanks

The BARSKA 4x32 Plinker-22 on Amazon is about $40 on Amazon right now. I bought it, haven't put it on my 64FXP due to some issues with the rifle. I did use it on my uncle's 10/22, liked it, and then I bought it.

I just put it on so I don't make an *** out of myself :P . The Barska is a dovetail mount and the Savage 64FXP uses the dovetail. It fits pretty well, although, I haven't shot with it yet.

I have the Barska 4x32 Plinker on mine. It works fine for what it is.

The only issues I had were that it sits very close to the stock rear sight, so I had to remove the sight "riser" in order to be able to get the scope cover on/off.

When I first put it on, it had a tendency to creep forward while shooting, also causing a clearance issue with the rear sight. I put a few drops of Loctite on the dovetail and scope screws and cinched it down. It hasn't moved since.

A scope is one product where you get what you pay for.

Did you remove the iron sights? I did remove the "ramp" that allows for elevation adjustment under the rear iron sight, as that would have also been in the way, but I don't see how to remove the actual rear iron sight itself. In my case, I could move the scope forward another inch which would help, except for the rear iron sight being in the way.

I put a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire scope on mine. The scope cost around $110 after rebates.
