    Savage 64FXP Question

If this is in the wrong part of the forum, I apologize in advance. Anyways, my family bought a Savage 64FXP. We went out to range with it, loaded 10 rounds in to the magazine, it fed in about 3-4 times. Then, it refused to load anything after that. We went to Big 5 on Greenback in Citrus Heights to return it. We were told that the 10 round magazine is actually 9 rounds and the rifle is a 9 + 1. Is this true? I just emailed Savage about it and I'm waiting for their response back. The manager there also implied that he thought we fired wayyyy more than a couple of rounds through there. Anyways, just kind of venting about it here

Thanks for the response! However, I don't understand how I can only load 9 rounds in an advertised 10 round magazine. I'm not trying to be difficult or anything. Thanks!
