So I just bought my first rimfire rifles.

Hey calguns, so I went to my local big 5(I know the evil devil cor) but it was the only store with a 10/22 under 350.
I scored a stainless 10/22 for 270$, saw the savage rascal and thought to myself well I don't have a bolt 22. So I bought the rascal for 160$, and as I filled out paper work I saw in the corner of my eye a savage 93r17 which I couldn't find anywhere and bought it too.
Then when the little lady behind the counter thought she was done I also impulsively bought a savage b mag, she stated at me and said " dude are you building a arsenal?" My response was "no I just don't have any rimfire rifles" and she was dumbfounded .
But the best part was the 20% discount I got on the b mag and 93r, 320 OTD for the savage b mag, and 280 OTD for the savage 93r17 camo. The manager said "f it I know you'll be back".
So long story short any body have experience with these rifles?
And dissassemble vids for the savage rascal? I can't find ANY!
As well as the other savage dissassembly tutorial?

Also my pick up isn't until the 8th of Jan, this is killing me!

Nice! Rimfires are fun, if you can find ammo. Don't have experience with most of what you bought but you won't be disappointed with the 10/22.

Did they have any Marlin 795s? That is another superb 22. All I'm all, given the price of rimfires you can't really go eton with them. Enjoy.

I dros'ed a 795 also from Big 5 for $191 OTD, will pick up 1/1/14. Like you I came back and dros'ed a 10/22 for $298 OTD, will pick up 1/8/14. I use electronic coupon on both purchases. I know prices at Turners are lower, but its like 15 miles from my house while Big 5 is less than a mile from me, more convenient for me.

The 10/22 is just an all around great rifle, the only mod I have done to mine was to replace the extractors with VQ extractors: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/363...mark-iii-22-45

I have no experience with the savage rascal or the savage 93r17 but I do have a 93 in 22 WMR and it is a pleasure to shoot. A Google search for "savage 93 disassembly" comes up with some possibilities.

          Good luck & enjoy.

Looks like we have several guys here who are set for some rimfire fun.

I hope ammo gets easy and cheap to find soon!
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

Got no problem with that, these are actually my 4th and 5th rimfires. I got another 10/22 carbine which I bought in the late 80s, I also got a 10/22 target model and a Mk II. With regards to ammo, I got that covered, I scored 5 boxes of mini mags from Walmart a month after Sandy Hook. And even before the panic, I've been stashing ammo. You know before, if I use a box of ammo from my stack, I have to replace it at least with two. Wish I could still do that, but no more ammo to be found. At least not at the price that I am willing to pay. So for now, I just have to use my Federal bulk, Remington golden bullets and Winchester X for target practice and save my mini mags for SHTF.

Good to be prepared. I expected stupidity after the '12 election so I bought .22 Blazer bulk because it was on sale. After a short bit of cogitation I got 2 cases. I still started being more judicious with ammo and I'm down to about 5 boxes plus whatever (not very large amount) I was able to buy since the panic. It's probably time to order a case and just wait for it but I'm hoping the drought will subside and I can find good prices again. Again -- enjoy shooting the new rifles.

when you pick up your guns at Big 5 ask if they have any .22 ammo ..... the manager said he had sold it all ... but he had a 550 box for me since it was for my new green savage 64

Almost bought the bmag last night but I wanted one more at lower and my fun fund was pretty depleted. $280 for the bmag is a sweet deal. And one of the big 5s I stopped at had cases of 17 wsm ammo!

However when I went and dros my lower today I couldn't help myself since I had an open dros I added a marlin model 60

When I went the marlins were not on sale, which I really wanted but apparently every big5 tends to put up different firearms on sale apart from the ones on the AD.

You got it, I will take pictures as well after the froglube treatment, to see if the bolt gets smoother, I have been told the bolts are stiff but from my understanding its because of the cocking on locking bolt down.
