    10/22 Bubba'd barrel

After a couple outings with the Kidd Ultralight barrel I am am going a different route for my daughters 10/22. The barrel shoots great, no problems with Kidd quality or performance. I have a lot of cheap bulk ammo and want a rifle that will run it all. So I took the sporter barrel that was on the rifle and turned its O.D. down to .500", installed an aluminum sleeve and a muzzle brake to bring the O.D. back to .920" to look correct in the stock. Also shortened to 16.250". Will take it out in the next couple weeks to see how it runs. It weighs a little more than the Kidd Ultralight barrel, just by holding side by side.

That sounds like a Straight Jacket, minus the secret sauce. Did you add anything between the barrel and the sleeve? I always imagined TTI using something like High Temp Epoxy or bedding compound.

My wifes cat ate one of my AR15 parts once. They both deny it to this day..

Sleeve is a press fit at the breech and the muzzle brake has a step machined on the rear to hold the sleeve centered. Those are the only two places where the sleeve touches the barrel.

Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...

Bubba sure does nice work in your particular trailer park.

Did you put the liner under any tension?
                              It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.
