    Remington 597 HB

i picked this rifle at oaktree and finally shot it today and it shot perfect. i shot about 400 rounds of federal bulk and had 3 problems. the problems were casue by me not completely releasing the trigger.

before going to shot the 597 i took it completely apart to clean and found the barrel pretty loose. so i tighten the barrel down a few turns and is now tight.

the fit wasnt all that great but im ok with that.

over all happy with this buy. i actually had a deposit for a 10/22 but i'm happy i picked this one.

scope is a nikko stirling off a howa 1500 combo i got from big5

barrel was pretty loose so i tighten the bolt a few turns.

Right before tightening. But there should be a gap about quarter to half inch. I only turned the scrrw a few turns.

Do not over tighten. Too much torque and the receiver may crack then its new rifle time.

I haven't taken mine out yet since I'm temporarily swamped with work but I already have the Volsquartsen hammer and ejector on the way.

Wow. I just shot it today again. Used 5 mags and all worked great.

Where did you buy your spare mags?

At Cabelas. They sell them in pairs. I think it came out to $55ish for 4 mags and free shipping.

Post up after trying the new hammer. Want to see if it is worth it.

Before buying this rifle I did some searching and found a few people with cracked receivers. Some of them didn't even mess with the barrel bolt. So yeah be careful . I only did about 1 full turn. My barrel was really loose and wobbly.
                    Thanks for the info.
