    Taccom/Better Mag Adapter

Tim has been working on this.
    Got it.
He is working with Better Mag people so it will be a stock item at Taccom.

What is the issue that the combo has?

The Taccom bolt has a longer cocking pad. This makes it run with better reliability and work with notched and after market triggers.
However it did cause an issue with the Better Mag.
So Tim went to work on the fix.
Now Tim is working with Better Mag and will offer these ready to rock.
The modification will have no adverse effect using it with other bcg's like CMMG.

The Taccom nickel plated bcg with reliability kit is ultra reliable.
Combine that with the very accurate Ultra Light barrel and Taccom killer upper receiver you have a very reliable, accurate, light weight .22 AR upper with a dependable bolt lock back system and easy to load S & W mags.

Working on a new mag loader too for BDM mags.

Nuts -- I picked up that combo last month and milled on both the bolt and the adapter to get it working.

I guess I'll run a bit more off the adapter and hopefully I won't have completely screwed over the reliability.

Thanks Shadow; I actually saw that last night myself on AR15.com. I've been thinking about my feeding problems with my Taccom 22; a lot of stovepiping and failure to eject. I already had AR15Barrels smooth out the entry into the barrel a bit and that might have improved things a bit.

I also found this work on the barrel and the 22 bolt which I'm thinking about next:

If you are like me, you want your firearm to be 100%. Sure, we can get a dud round with .22, but I want the gun to feed and eject like it should. My rifle seemed to be running pretty good but then eve

Interesting that I went with the Taccom recommended mags; the Black Dog mags, now Tim at Taccom seems to be saying with the better mag adapter(and the Taccom mod) and the S&W mags it works better? am I reading that wrong?

Has anybody else noticed the Black Dog mags seem to fit kind of loose? Looser than a typical 223 mag in a regular AR anyway. Is that good or bad? I've read some that loose mags in a 22AR are good, but doesn't that make the feed end of the mag move around in relation to the upper and the bcg? Wouldn't that tend to cause feeding problems?

Btw I'm still a Taccom fan; it's a work or art and does shoot very accurate, I've only had it a couple months.

Anyway thanks for the post Shadow.

If you had feeding problems from a Taccom barrel/bolt, contact Tim. Very unusual. Tim had fits every collar and barrel.

Are you using Taccom's BCG and collar?

Taccom still prefers Black Dog mags. Tim prefers the nylon feed lip X mags.

For the Redimag adapter, there is no choice aside from the S & W mags, so it's another option.

The loader (not available yet) will make loading BDM mags a breeze.

Thanks Shadow; yeah it's all Taccom; barrel came attached to Taccom upper, Taccom bcg, plug. Anderson lower, RRA lpk I think, JP slightly reduced pressure trigger springs, BCM ambidextrous charging handle.
I hate to bother Taccom, besides, what could I do except send it all back which would take a lot of time back and forth. I think I'd almost have to send the whole rifle back, I'm not sure Taccom can even accept that, there might be slight variation in lowers sizes and mag sizes? I'm going to try that AR15 polishing link I posted and then see how it runs.
If I'm still having problems I might try that "better mag" and some S&W mags I guess.

Believe me, Tim will be more than happy to help you. Give him a call, tell him what's going on. He will get you running.

Tim is all about the customer. He spent many years designing systems and parts for major manufacturers before deciding to go on his own.

We have had many conversations over the past couple years about the customer being number one.
