Depends on the sight.. for irons one eye open, for red dot, holo, etc both eyes open

For my handguns I shoot with both eyes open, but I close my left eye maybe 1/3. My left and right eyes don't have the same vision so this helps me focus better.

I shoot both eyes open. I gave up on target shooting for groups years ago, now i go for combat accurate hits

One open but after viewing my targets some shooters would question if they were both closed.

Right handed & left eye dominant.

Handguns, both eyes open.

Rifles with magnified scopes, close non-dominant eye.

Red dot or holographic, both open.

1-4X @ 1X, both open... @ 4X close one.

It took some practice and training to get my brain to accept the 2 eye information and keep a good sight picture, and once in a great while it goes wonky on me but a quick close of non-dominant eye resets it.

i need to practice both eyes open on handgun.

Ha, I know. It takes kind of a weird tilt twist of the head.

You would think the dominance wouldn't matter since I'm closing an eye, but the vision in my left is a little crisper so that's the one I use.

I wouldn't recommend it but that's how I see best (clearest)

I'm right handed but left eye dominant- I shoot differently with different weapons.

Rifles- I was raised shooting right handed with my right eye, that's what I still do today.

Handguns- I hold right handed but aim with my left eye

Shotgun- shoot right handed, both eyes open

BTW, my vision is 20/20 and both eyes see fine, but everytime I check eye dominance it goes to the left one.

I've been training myself both open with pistols and iron sights. Once I got used to it, it's actually fairly easy. When I lose focus on the front sight, I just wink once to re-align my sight/target perspective.

That made me laugh, that's probably what I look like too.

I never get tired of seeing a dog do that.
