CCI Mini Mags - Savage MkiI

Took the Savage MK II .22 BSEV out for a spin on the weekend. Tried some CCI mini mags. The first 5 rounds weren't an issue, but then afterwards the rounds stopped ejecting and got stuck in the barrel.

I switched to different ammo and didn't have any more problems. Flawless.

Prior to shooting, I probably only had 50 rds through the rifle.

Seems like casing expansion was an issue. Anyone experience anything like this?

Yep. But my understanding is is that it actually only has 1 ejector. Source here. http://www.americanrifleman.org/arti...95&cat=3&sub=5

And as I said. No issues with the other ammo at all.

I have a BSEV and have about 400 rounds through it of nothing but CCI Mini-Mags. Been flawless so far. Here's my best 3 shot group @ 50 yards of the day. Left side of the target. That was 3 repeated shots trying to get the closest grouping I could. I couldn't be more pleased with the rifle!

My experience with Savage bolt action is you have to mean it when you pull the bolt back to eject the spent round and shove a new round in the chamber. In other words don't act like a girlie man and be tender about it. Don't flat out abuse it either. If that doesn't solve your issue, then clean the barrel real good and the chamber. Then put some flitz metal cleaner/polish on one of those cotton brushes chucked in a drill and polish the chamber a little. It is the little details that Savage does not do in order to sell the firearms cheaper.

Often what people call "ejection" issues are really extractor issues. Have you checked under the extractor claw for any debris?
