    Pheonix hp22 main spring

I just purchased a hp22 and I'm looking at a lot of ideas to make it last longer. But my idea of longevity is to replace the weak recoil spring every 500 rounds. The spring is inexpensive @ $1.00 each. So that's $0.002 added to each round. I think I will be doing this. Any ideas on longevity?

    great info mrrabbit

Thanks for the reply. I will look into the touchups you described. The Ammo list you made is a very good idea but few follow.

Been shooting mine with any ammo I find. It's one of the newer ones so not too worried about the frame cracking (not like I'm running tons of high velocity thru it). It feeds and fires anything I put in it. I called the company to order some springs for the future because I know the spring is probably due for a change soon. They happily sent me two free ones.
Love the little gun, the safety features kinda bugged me at first but really not a big deal. Oh to break it down for cleaning all I use is my hands for the barrel release.

Thinking of purchasing this for myself and teaching my kid about gun and gun safety. I wanted to get your guy's opinion on this before I make the purchase. It's currently on sale at Turner's and the price is very enticing. Also, thinking about the high point 380 since the ammo is much easier to find. Thoughts?

Hi Point is a lot better. I owned the carbine and 9mm. Good product and ignore the haters.
