    Building a AR15 .22lr dedicated upper

    Any suggestions on barrels?

From reading, it seems like a 1/16 twist is ideal? I would like pretty decent accuracy, but not looking to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a barrel. Something that's in the middle would do.

I currently have a CMMG conversion that I use in my AR15 with a 5.56 barrel that's a 1/9 twist, and accuracy is only so so.

Look at taccom barrel and cmmg barrels. I just picked up a dedicated cmmg upper and the accuracy could rival my 10/22 imo

Midway has a CMMG barrel/bolt combo with a 1/16 twist for better accuracy on clearance for $225. Only 3 left!

Otherwise the Taccom barrels are great too.

I used the CMMG barrel/bolt collar combo that Midway offers from time to time to build my dedicated upper since I already had a Ciener conversion. The CMMG parts worked fine with the Ciener bolt. Good gear.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Awesome tip/lead! Looking at it now.

How's the accuracy on it. Trying to do some quick research on it.

What's the typical recommended barrel length for shooting .22lr? Would I be sacrificing that much velocity by cutting it down?
