    first 22 upper build question

I'm in the process of buying or building a ar15 upper in .22lr
most of the 22 uppers are sold out or over price
    I was doing some research
and looking for the parts to build one
and I found a cmmg barrel and bolt
    Charging handle
    a hanguard

what other parts are am I missing
    other than a upper
    thank you

    Barrel
    Barrel nut
    Flash hider
    Crush washer
Handguard - Delta ring pack/ handguard cap/ gas block ( if your using a non free float handguard)
    Upper receiver
    Bolt
    Charge handle
That should be everything you need...
Of course differences are possible, if your using a compensator then most likely shims will be included so you won't need the crush washer. Or if your going with a free float handguard you'll just need the appropriate barrel but and no ring pack, cap, gas block. Etc.

Personally if I were to build one I'd pick up a dpms slick sided upper since you can't use the forward assist. The cmmg barrel/ bolt Combo. A cheap a2 flash hider and crush washer. Whatever charging handle you like. And a budget/ quality free float rail/tube (yes those do exist). Any you'd be into it the same or less then buying a complete upper. 22 upper are easier to assemble because there is no gas block/ gas tube and No forward assist. Good luck!

I would suggest looking for a good deal on a complete CMMG .22 lr upper, shooting it for a while and then adding onto it as you see fit.

          I just picked a dpms 22 upper
          $407 shipped
That's way cheaper than building one
          Thanks all for the suggestion

I just started building a dedicated .22 from scratch last week. Overall the price is pretty decent.

PSA blemished lower + LPK: $80
            DPMS slick side upper: $80
CMMG bolt + barrel: $220 (on clearance @ Midway)
            A2 flash hider: $10
CH, stock & buffer tube/spring/buffer: extra parts laying around the house

            Total so far: $390.

All I need is a hand guard and sights. I don't think I did pretty badly if I do say so myself. Could have been $40 cheaper if I opted for the PSA blemished upper.
