    Kidd Barrel Finish

I'm building a 10/22 for my son's birthday and wan to match the receiver finish to the Kidd Lightweight Barrel (black) that I'll be getting. I plan to use Brownell's Aluma-Hyde II product.

Can anyone tell me if the black Kidd barrels are glossy or more of a flat black? Thanks!

    They're somewhat of a semi-matte black.

Would you still matte black the receiver? I'll have to look around the web for pictures of that combo. My son's favorite color is red, so this will all go onto a red stock of some sort. Haven't picked that yet. I need to have all the pieces by his birthday in February. We'll assemble it together.

I will post a pic of mine today

But, you can always sand blast the receiver. It is aluminum with a layer of paint.

Mine is a black anodized Razor receiver with a 20" KIDD Taper Match SST barrel w/bead blasted finish. The black against silver looks great IMO. Red would kick it up another notch!

Best selection at lowest cost for stocks that are drop in for a 10/22.

I don't own a 10/22 but I do own 4 of Boyd's stocks. All actions dropped right in with no fitting required. All are laminate wood so there are no solid colors but still beautiful stocks. Below are links to all the "red" stocks, although they are actually red/gray laminate. Price/quality can't be beat. They are the favorite aftermarket stocks by far on Rimfirecentral.com
