Ruger 22/45 Lite

I am interested in the Ruger 22/45 LITE. Only problem is, it has a threaded barrel and its not on the roster. Is there a way to get this pistol to an FFL, and then some how permanently attach a device so the threads are not an issue? Lets just say the roster is not an issue, what about these threads?

I think pin/weld on a muzzle device or thread-protector would be A-OK. People do it all the time with sub-16 inch barrels to create a permanent 16"

I doubt if there's settled case law on this though, so its going to be somebody's opinion, yet your butt in the sling and $$ to defend.

HOWEVER - the mere presence of threads on a barrel leading to an AW charge sounds like the kind of thing an NRA lawyer might want to jump on providing you were a squeeky clean defendant.

If the muzzle device is permanently attached, it's a non-issue. However there is no set CA standard like the ATF has for barrel length minimums, and some people have managed to use red loctite or some other equivalent. IIRC it's an issue for a couple of .22lr pistols due to their use of barrel shrouds and such(the walther, and a couple of the 1911s in 22lr) that still technically have threads, they have just thread protectors permanently installed.
