Ordered A Ruger American Rifle Standard 22LR

I sold my Mossberg 795 late last year and I kind of been regretting it ever since. I bought 3 guns a few days ago and I decided to pick up this rifle after I learned about it. I had know idea this rifle was out, I guess its still kind of new but I have wanted a nice bolt action rifle with a longer barrel than the 18in that came on the 795. So I am pretty stoked about it. I picked it up for $100 off MSRP and could not have been happier for it. I cannot wait to get it to my FFL and jail it. I even found some cheap factory mags(the bx-1 I believe they're called) for $7 cheaper than Ruger wanted. To top it off I scored 2 boxes of Federal match 325 bulk for 19.99 at a brick and mortar so all in all a score for me. Anyone else own one of these rifles? Would love to hear some feedback!

I just took mine out to the range yesterday. I only put 50 rounds thru it. Just shot it out of the box and the first 10 or so rounds were a bit rough to feed into the chamber, but after that it was smooth. Very accurate except for an occasional flyer. I was using a mixed bag of misc 22 ammo so I think it was the ammo that gave me an occasional flyer.

I love mine. It's a great little rifle. The bolt is a little stiff but it's smoothing out.

You know, it seems that the stiff bolt is the most common thing on these rifles but like you and the other owners said it does smooth out. I guess I would prefer a bit of a tight fit then let it smooth out as I use it. My 1911 was like that. Stuff as all hell! But I am happy to get this rifle, paid for it yesterday so now the waiting game starts for it to be shipped to my FFL!
