SR22 gritty slide operation

Observed a gritty feel in the slide operation and saw that some anodizing on the inside of the slide has worn away, when I was cleaning today. Never felt this previously, sending back to ruger for correction, but I'm wondering if anyone has heard of an similar issue.

I would check with Ruger before you send it back due to it being off roster now, I have heard of people having issues, not saying you will but I would check first.

Yes a thread without pics is worthless; I agree.

Its been a month, cleaned and shot without the grit feel but see pics.

My question is that normal? It's not gone back, shoots fine, but? Should it go back, is there likely to be an issue DUE TO F'ING CADOJ. Is it a repair or a roster issue?

Anodizing wears off. Don't worry about that.

Clean it and lube it. Lubes that contain ptfe are really good for preventing galling, btw.

+1 Not going to hurt anything for the anodizing to be worn away, some of it will be after lots of use.

Just clean, oil, shoot, and repeat. After a few thousands rounds things should smooth out.

The newer SR22s have a steel pin in that area to prevent wear. Maybe call Ruger about it if you care.

Whatever you do, don't send them the entire gun. Since the SR22 was removed from the roster, you might have problems getting it back.

I would say that mine has closer to 2000 or 2500 rounds down the barrel. Oh and thanks for the feedback.

The new SR has a pin in that area to prevent wear? The slide in the pic has the pin in it and obviously still shows the wear.

This is the nature of having the steel slide catch pressed up on against the aluminum slide. Wear is gonna happen. You can round and polish the edge of the slide catch with some fine emery paper and keep it lubed to reduce it, but wear is going to happen there regardless.

OP if you send your pistol back to Ruger for that wear and they fix it, it'll look the same after you put s few hundred rounds through it again.
