let me jack this thread a little, anyone know of a drop in replacement trigger for the 522?

I put HK 416 diopter sights on mine. Fantastic iron sight upgrade. You need the railed forend to do it though. Robertrtg sells them for $125 a set.

I also dumped the sig USA folding telescoping stock and installed a Swiss sig/San 551 folding only stock. Much nicer.

I'd love to know more about stock options. I feel like I've seen pics of the 522 with magpul stocks on them?

here is the adapter.. but it appears to be permanently backordered.. supposedly DD is not answering phones people have reported problems with customer service.

Heres some pics of mine, I have the DD Adapter as well, as the post above mine, you can pretty much forget getting one anymore. DD has a few issues internally. I find that the Factory Sig Black Dog Mags Stick in the magwell a bit, while the straight ones fall out easily. If you ever pick up a 522, try not to get one of those with the welded FH on it.

Yes, that is correct. I've found that with the 522, std height mounts used to co-witness with AR's are a tad too high (the same goes for Front and Rear BUIS as well) Better to save the money and get a RDS or Magnified Riflescope with a lower mount height and save a few $$$

It's amazingly heavy duty , isn't it? ... I was shocked when I split the lower... looks like the trigger set meant for an ak. You may have to modify yourself or live with it.

If you ever pick up a 522, try not to get one of those with the welded FH on it.

I think the welded model is the California "corporate" model... I bought mine from Big5 and it was the welded model.(probably meant to keep the firearm from falling under 26" folded, with the flash suppressor removed and keeping an otherwise law abiding citizen from becoming a felon). I like the large flash suppressor though .. looks very much like the colt commando suppressor. Also , if I had waited to try to get one with no weld , I probably would have ended up with the new machined gas block , I prefer the old rough one.

I haven't looked into it but they did have a bunch of barrel options for these, not sure if sig offers them for sale though.. I remember last year.. buds or gallery of guns, had a bunch that came with heavy barrel and short barrel.

Got mine unpacked and in the safe. Overall impressions is that I really like the platform. I have a bunch of AR's, a Marlin 795, and a 10/22 in semi-auto but I like the ergos, controls, etc just from handling it.

Came with iron sights which I proceeded to install. I promptly removed when I realized 2 things:

1. Front sight installed backwards
2. Hard time seeing through the rear sight they provide

Took a red dot off a M&P 15-22 and slapped it on in about 15 seconds. Standard mount seems to work just fine height wise for now.

My only complaint is that I only got 1 mag. Guess I have to get more.

Now, I really want a Sig 556. Anybody got one of those too?
