First attempt at doing trigger jobs and adding an over travel stop on 10/22's.
These were on Poly groups, both started out #5.25 + pull with creep and lots of over travel. I have no jig so this was all done by eye and feel.
First one turned out great, smooth #2.5 pull with almost no creep and near zero over travel.
Second one did not start out so good.
First attack netted me a #1.25 pull, to light for my liking.
Second attack, Recut angle and I'm back to the starting line at #5.25 pull.
Third attack, #2.25 pull but a bit of creep and a spot of grit.
Stoned it a lot to get rid of the grit and creep and now it sets at a
smooth #1.75 pull with almost no overtravel. Still a little light for my liking but will give a try for awhile. Added the over travel stop and called it good.
For an over travel stop, I pull the trigger return plunger spring, cut about a
.060 piece of 3/16" Brass rod and inserted it into the end of the spring,
A perfect fit and works perfect, no modifying the trigger or the housing.
Update:
Just got back from the range and I must say, I do excellent work
They work perfect and are safe, I ran lots of ammo through them.
I was thinking the one @ #1.75 might be to light for my liking, but I Like it.
The over travel stops are a Big +
Thinking maybe I should re-harden the hammers, your thoughts ?
