    1937 Remington 241 Speedmaster question.

Friend dug up a 1937 remington speedmaster .22lr from his dad's attic.
I spent an hour degunking it - it was so bad, the firing pin wouldn't slide.
The exterior finish is a little pitted..

It's a pretty basic model from what I can tell. However, the top rear by the stock has two empty screw holes.

He thought they were for "venting" (?) but google image search appears to have them filled.

Is there a good source to get these? or if anyone has the dims? They almost look like set screw holes.

    Thanks in advance!

Are they the screw holes for the rear peep sight?

That would be them! But he doesn't have a peep sight.

      Thanks

241s are neat little 22s---very similar to the Browning semi-auto 22s---light and handy---if the exterior is somewhat rough, that's ok---makes a dandy "truck" gun...
