10/22 takedown in the Bay Area

This is pretty tough to find. Anyone seen a Ruger 10/22 Takedown model in the Bay Area, especially the East Bay? I've called the local stores and the Big Fives, but no one has them.

I saw one at reeds indoor range a month ago, stopped by last week, was already sold. They wanted to get a deposit since they come in "randomly" but I know Reeds never has the best price. I think your best bet is to troll Private sales section or have an FFL order one for you. demand for rimfire rifles is moderate right now, so shouldnt be too hard to get one if you are determined.

I picked one up yesterday at Big 5 in San Rafael. Strarted the countdown I should say. $311 after the 20% off coupon. See Jared there. He's been great about finding me guns at other stores or the warehouse.

All over Gun Broker, just bid on one, win, and have it shipped to the FFL of your choice. You'll pay their FFL fee (they charge because they missed mark-up on the gun) but you'll have it in 10 days plus shipping which is usually 2. It's easy, I have done this several times when the LGS don't have it and cannot get it easily. I had a good deal in the Bay Area, but Tracy Rifle and Pistol wants $125 for FLL transfers so I am less inclined now unitl I find a more reasonably priced FFL. Shipping is typically $20-30 plus the $125 and you have the LGS price and then some. They usually add 3% for using a credit card, so cash or money order is the way to go. You will pay CA sales tax when you pick it up.

That is a surprise, I never thought Big Five would have that version of 10/22.

                    Will do.

I knew Rim fire rifles were exempt at the final revision of the pending bill and were exempt from assault rifle rules, but the threaded barrel concerned me since it is illegal in pistols which are not assault weapons.

I I am going to get a take down, why not that one I figured.

I paid way more than that, from Big5, 4-6 months ago.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear this. I called that store (Terra Linda) about a month ago and they told me they didn't have any and didn't expect to get any before the end of the year. I ended up finding one in Vallejo and drove up there to buy it.

How much is J&R asking? I wouldn't mind having a second one.
