Old Rifle, Old Shooter, New Fun

Finally gave in to the dreaded "Rimfire Benchrest" disease.

The Mossberg 144 shared a birthday with me in 1949.

Learned a lot today.

1. Don't shoot late in the day due to wind.

2. Wind can REALLY affect accuracy with subsonic bullets.

3. The Mossy likes Wolf Match Target.

4. Making tight little groups is fun and quite the challenge.

Yeah, me too 1949---as I get older, I find I really enjoy shooting older 22s---rifles and pistols---very relaxing and a real break from the muzzle-blast of the centerfire guns---a great way to spend a part of the day and not break the bank ammo pricewise---especially if you stocked up on 22 ammo before the crazy prices we see nowdays...

I just picked up a CZ 452, kinda hope that someday my grandchildren appreciate it and pass it on their children. Posterity can be a beautiful thing.
