Well I hope your experience with SIG will be better than mine. I called SIG about getting a replacement sight for a mosquito. The guy on the phone told me the guns were made by GSG and they had nothing to do with it. I informed him that on the side of the gun it says SIG. I don't care who made it, you are marketing it and should support it. No luck, no sight, no support.

Probably because it would be better for you to have a Sig dealer order it for you.

And if you call GSG I'll bet you get a RA and the gun is back in three weeks including mailing time fixed or they will ship you the part.

That's strange. I got replacement Mosquito front sight blades from Sig and they were very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

Reading my limited lifetime firearms warranty that came with my purchased new by me P238 and have to ASSUME all their pistols have the same warranty, Sig Sauer agrees to only "correct any defect in the firearm for the original purchaser".
You didn't see these defects when first examining the gun? How in the hell did you miss "idiot marks and hand tools on the barrel? Was it sold as a safe working handgun or as a parts gun?
Read your sales invoice-was it sold as is?
I hate to say it but you now own a pricey albeit light paperweight.
Even though you've had it (you don't say how long) I'd start off going after the gun store and trading it out for something else. Cash back to you never is easy-use what you invested and trade up for something DECENT.

Such are the perils of buying a second hand gun. However, if you bought this from a shop and they did not disclose the damage, that's a problem. The seller, (even though they are not the owner), still has a duty to accurately represent the condition of the item. I would have returned it and demanded money back immediately. It really shouldn't matter if it was a consignment gun or not. The shop has responsibility here, whether they think so or not. However, if you waived your rights, you're pretty much screwed.

If the goods are so nonconforming that the buyer has the right to reject them, the risk of loss does not pass to the buyer until the defects are cured (that is, until the goods are repaired, replaced, or discounted in price by the seller) or until the buyer accepts the goods in spite of their defects (thus waiving the right to reject).

If a buyer accepts a shipment of goods and later discovers a defect, acceptance can be revoked.

I agree. It doesn't make much sense to me.

As far as Sig warranty experience, I don't own a Mosquito, so I have no personal experience with warranty for one. However, I do have a P229 which came with defective night sights (became very dim after a few weeks). Sig had me ship the slide and sent it back completely repaired fairly quickly. No hassle at all.

Unfortunately the Mosquito does not have the same warranty. I didn't see the defects because i didn't take the grip panels off in the store. i didn't see the marks on the barrel because i didn't strip it down. I'll try to see what the LGS will do first, then pursue my options with Sig.

I've read here that the Mosquito is produced by another company and merely carries a Sig badge. But being distributed by Sig and with their name on it, I would think they would handle any warranty issues. Did you get the manual? If you have it, what are the terms?
I still think the issue is between you and the LGS as you not being the original owner, you have no factory warranty to lean back on.

That's what it sounds like.

OP failed to inspect the gun prior to purchase and now looking for hand-holding answers on Calguns, instead of directly calling Sig to find out available options from the source.
