    Cmmg conversation questions

Hey folks. I have a Cmmg complete upper and wanted to know if I buy this Cmmg piece

Can I then use the bolt in my ar?

Yes you could, but why would you want to?

A dedicated .22 lr upper is WAY more accurate and reliable than a conversion kit in a 5.56 upper.

Because I'd like to shoot my normal ar setup as it is. The cmmg upper is setup differently than my ar.

        Yes thats what you need...

Have you ever considered making your Dedicated upper more like your normal setup?

Yes but money is always the main factor. I've seen projects where guys are using vltor Mur uppers. Noveske key mod rails and lowers with gesseile triggers. They're dumping thousands of dollars into a rifle that shoots 22lr. If I hit the powerball I'd think about doing that but until Then i make do.

Fair enough... Personally, one of my .22lr setups is identical to my 5.56... And while I do keep things fairly simple, my two setups cost roughly the same...

But, I also have the same type of collar so i can drop a dedicated bolt into my regular setup. Just something to think about.

Yeah I have my dedicated .22 AR set up almost the same as my go to rifle, just a Primary Arms red dot on the .22 instead of a Aimpoint like I have on my 5.56. That is the way to go.

There are many reasons why you don't want to put .22 lr rounds down the pipe of a 5.56 upper, it fowls the gas tube, poor accuracy, ect.
