Volquartsen Target Hammer with Bushings Ruger 10/22?

I like my 10/22 stock trigger...everything except the 8lb pull.
All i want to do is lighten it up. Is this a good kit to buy or is there something else i can do for the same price or less (im on a budget). I prefer some parts to drop in as opposed to sending my trigger out.

It is an awesome kit. Best bang for your buck upgrade for your 10/22.

Watch a youtube install video and easy to do in about 15 minutes or quicker if you're skilled with tools and such (I am not).

Buy it. Drops the trigger pull way, way down. 3 pounds or less for me.

VQ makes really good stuff. I have hammers and sears and full trigger upgrade kits in different things.

The 10/22, the hammer is the most important thing to replace to fix the trigger pull.

THere are plenty of other mods at rimfirecentral.com. I've done most of them.

Wife got me the Volq hammer and trigger for Xmas. Both made shooting the gun MUCH more enjoyable. Hammer dropped my trigger pull to 2 lbs and it breaks pretty crisp. And I like the trigger's flat bow and you can tune to limit over travel

Volquartsen makes quality accessories/upgrades for the Ruger 10/22. The first item I bought was the Volquartsen extractor to cure feeding issues, followed by the hammer kit. However, I believe it is now recommended to buy the complete hammer/trigger kit to ensure the correct trigger pull. Just replacing the hammer may result in too light a trigger pull. Another handy accessory is the bolt release, where all you have to do is pull the bolt to release in not having to manually depress the bolt catch.

I just stoned my factory trigger as suggested by the other members of RFC. It was a 15 minute job and feels great!

Thanks for all of the input, the VQ kit will be my goto if this wears out.
