    Squires Bingham value

I was going through so me old stuff, and happened across an old Squires Bingham M16r rifle I've been forgetting about for the better part or 10 years or so. It was still wrapped in cosmoline and plastic when I decided to pull it out and clean it up. I do know that it has never been fired, has 2 original 15 round mags, and looks pretty damn good. Anyways, can't find much on the value of these things and need help.

I've blundered into one of these rifles too. Sort of a ... "Here Dad, it's not working right, you want it?" kind of thing.

At first I was thinking it was crumby ammo that made it act up, but it's definitely not hitting the rim of the shells hard enough. Had several rounds not fire, looked at the meek little ding in the rims, stuffed 'em into my Marlin 60, and they fired fine in that gun.

So what's up with that? I guess it's time to decide to spend time fiddling or bail out and trade it away for something more reliable. Maybe take the bolt/firing pin out and inspect of reasons it's striking the shells so weakly?

What's the price for scrap metal nowadays? Seriously, when I was growing up in the Philippines, Squires Bingham's products were generally ridiculed because the quality and reliability just wasn't there. That company's guns were our version of Saturday night specials.

I would hold on to the rifle because of the 15 round magazines.

The last SB M16 I saw at the LGS it took them 5months to sell and it was sold for $150

Sounds like it's about what I thought,,, it'll work, but it's nothing to get all wrapped up in.
I'll try cleaning out the bolt/firing pin and feed it clean rim fire ammo a while and see if it can be relied on.
I just hate to toss a clean usable rifle into the scrap heap.
Thanks a bunch for your input everyone.

Took her out and ran an entire box of Winchester 555 without a problem thanksgiving weekend. Pretty fun shooter! I may have been lucky to receive one of the units that was built with love at the factory. I'm pretty sure I'm going to hold on to it for a long while! Good luck with yours DoubleBit.

I have one and it works fine

Just keep it Clean, Can get mucked up after 200 rounds or so

Over the years I have replaced the firing pin twice

                    Takes a lick'in and keeps on Plink'in
