Free at last, Free at last,

Thanks God almighty, they're free at last!

Paid for these up front to be ordered in, shop owner ordered one but after a month of waiting I found out he forgot to place the order for the other, so my week plus 10 day turned into a month and a half. I placed the order on July 19th.

    Marlin XT-22 w/ Nikon Prostaff Rimfire 3-9 X 40

S&W 15-22 w/ Sightmark Holo sight. (We'll see how that one plays out, but looks kinda cool for plinking.)

Thanks, I figure it covers both ends of the spectrum, from Tactical to Practical.

#12 Weaver bases and Leupold Rifleman Medium rings.

It barely clears, the front scope cap kinda' hits the stock sight. I'm thinking if I decide to go with a Butler Creek type caps I may have to shave a little material off the bottom of it.

the bolt handle clears the scope right?

can you remove the bolt without taking off the scope?

im actually considering buying that exact same setup except the wood stock XT-22

The bolt handle clears, but I haven't tried removing it yet... *gulp*

I'll keep my fingers crossed and try it tonight.

They're putting some really nice-looking laminate stocks on some of these. I got the synthetic 'cuz it was in stock and I'm impatient, and I'll probably be putting it in a Boyd's stock later.

HA! I missed this comment earlier. Funny you should mention that, we're just about ready to put a little lawn back there.

As of last Christmas there wasn't even a patio there, just dirt, weeds, and dog poop.

I did a thread awhile back on our work in progress.

NICE RIFLES!! I have the Sightmark Ultra NVQD and it is pretty decent for a sub $100 sight. Clear, bright enough, and the QD mount works well for me. I have it on a SIG522 right now. Perfect for a tactical .22

I like the looks of the sightmark without spending EOTECH money. It would need a bit of a raise to co-witness perfect on a flat top as far as I can tell. How does it line up for you on your 15-22?

I just got my Aimpoint PRO and it looks to be made like a tank - fit and finish is beyond the other stuff I have. Worth $365 ? Probably.

Not totally sure yet as I haven't had a chance to zero or shoot yet, but so far it looks like it may cowitness nicely. (absolute)

For $70 if it holds up I think it'll be good for plinking with the .22

I don't think I have ever had a real reliability problem with any inexpensive red dots other than too dim of a dot in bright sun (big problem) or battery spring needing stretched. The sightmarks are tougher than most. I really like mine so far - it was on a semi-auto 12 gauge before the .22 and no issues. Mine was low on an AR for co-witness with standard AR front sight. If the sight doesn't totally block the reticle/lines up with rear sight, I think you are OK.
