    DROS Question

I started a DROS at 3pm on Monday. By my math, I can pick up at 3pm next Thurs, but the salesperson wrote 3pm on next Friday.

Am I off by a day?

Some locations like to be on the safe side and add an extra day just to cover their butts. One of the FFLs I use does that.

I think you're right, unless the holiday comes into play for some reason. At least worth a phone call.
If you buy anything because it has "tactical" or "operator" in the name, we probably don't run in the same circles.

Spoke with someone at store. He thinks salesperson got it wrong and didn't realize Aug has 31 days? They said Aug 26 purchase, then Sept 5 pickup.

Holiday should not matter. It's 10 calendar days.

I have seen stores add an extra day if they are closed on the 10th day. It is a bother and I have avoided them after one purchase.

Big 5 has a standing policy of 11 days.
              Huh?

11 24 hour periods, or morning of 11th day?

The store can write whatever they want on your receipt as to when you can pick it up as long as its > 240 hours from when they submitted the paperwork. Like others said, some of them like to add an extra day so that you don't come in on the morning of the 10th day and expect to be able to get it when you haven't completed the 240 hours required.

"California requires that the dealer retain the gun for 10 days - 10 24-hour periods - before delivery is allowed."

The store might have their own policy on when you can come in - the law just says they can't give it to you in fewer than 240 hours from when they submit the DROS.

I know bass pro does this. I cant stand it because 10 days is to much but 11 is just aggravating. I do know that if they make you wait 11 days then you can go in whatever time that day to get it.

My father-in-law told scary stories about that around the campfire.

Hahaha no and I am glad I never went through that. When was it 15 days? I mean seriously it should be instant, its so stupid the crap we have to jump through to exercise a right.

Especially if you have one at home, no need for cool down
