I've been researching semi auto .22lr handguns and i'm leaning towards ruger sr22. Almost all reviews i've read about the sr22 have been positive. I did however hear that the takedown lever breaks easily, there's even a couple you tube videos about it.If that's all thats wrong with it not a deal breaker for me. Any other problems anyone have with this firearm? Thanks

I had a problem with the mag release on mine (bnib) - sent it back to ruger and got it back within a week.
Another member posted a 3rd party replacement takedown lever that's made of metal. Haven't pulled the trigger on it.
Love the sr22...mine doesn't like the winchester 333 bulks, but likes everything else.
You do know that the sr22 is now offlist, yes? You can only pick one up in PPT unless you're exempt.
Good Luck. Its one heck of a fuuun gun."Start by holding doors open for people, move up gradually from there."
"Saying we don't need guns because we have cops is like saying we don't need fire extinguishers because we have firefighters"
"My lemonade stand was robbed once by two thieves. I shot them both. No more robberies."
"Went to the Giants game yesterday. For opsec reasons I said I was going next week. Can never be to careful." -
Gun works fine for me. Just know that it is no longer on the ca DOJs safe handgun list, so unless you SSE it , find a used one or are an exempted person you probably can't get one.Comment

No problems with mine, shoots everything that I feed it. I think the takedown lever was an early issue that was resolved with a change by Ruger. Only thing I don't like is that it cannot be fitted with a red dot or reflex sight but of course it wasn't designed for that. Otherwise its a great little pistol. Got it for my wife anyway so she loves it and that's what counts.Comment

Because micro stamping is now a requirement for handguns to be added to the safe handgun list it is unlikely the SR22 will be back in California. Get the p22Comment
