Any Marlin Model 57 Owners?

I got mine in the early 60s for Christmas. The rifle has been flawless, and probably has a bazillion rounds through it.

From what I understand, they were a bit of a problem child in the feed department, but mine never failed me. The 57A in .22 mag was way more popular.

Any other proud owners out there?

Didn't figure there were too many out there. Here's a photo. The stock got beat up pretty well bouncing around on the pickup seats out in the fields when we were kids, so in the early 70s while I was in college, a guy I worked with at an auto parts store took it and refinished it. Did a nice job.

I had a model 56 mag fed and a steel receiver . it looks just like yours with out the tube . great guns and a blast to shoot.

I have a JC Higgins model 44dl which is the Sears model of the Marlin 57. It was my dads, and the first real gun I ever shot. The bluing is almost all the way gone, but its the last rifle I will ever let go to anybody......
