    10/22 laser

Anybody using the 10/22 laser system that's part of the front Barrel Band. I was wondering how good it is or just a sales gimmick. I think the info says it's visable to 25 yds, depending on lighting conditions. Cabelas is selling the laser unit for $199 and Ruger sells it for $129. you can also get it with certain 10/22 models.

Not familiar with this exact laser but from personal experience, unless you're shooting at night or indoors, it's not worth it. That being said, if you're shooting your 10/22 at mostly indoor ranges, it might be kinda cool.

Why don't you use a micro red dot like the Burris Fast fire 3?

I have one, and im in the LA/OC area if you want to try it. It's FAST!, and doesn't point back at you.

Best can shooter I've ever seen, draws crowds cause of how fast i knock down cans at informals and swinging steel at public ranges.

It makes me smile to shoot it. Again, if in Socal, and you or anyone wants to try this set-up, you pay for ammo and shoot all you want.

Set up is 10/22 receiver,VQ barrel KIDD rest of it. Revolution stock, Burris on top, of a 15MOA rail.

Can you explain how this works? What does MOA mean. For shooting a 22 lr in short rangers, and mounting on a Marlin 60, what would i need?

I just bought a Laser/ flightlight for my handgun from a company called Trinex tactical ... a buddy of mine had recommended it and so far it works really well was not that expensive for a green laser (which I wanted more then red) and it came with a warranty. Ive only had it for a few weeks but the visibility on it during the day is good but at night its incredible literally I think it goes a few miles.

Thanks for the offer, I'm over 300 miles away. I've got a red dot, a scope, and a set of TECH Sights for the new 10/22 I bought. Fire sights look interesting also. I'll decide what to put on it when I pick it up Aug 31. I had a 4x40 scope on the last 10/22 didn't like it, put a reflex sight on it, I like that much better for that rifle. I read the Ruger Laser info wrong, It says it's visable out to 100yds, calibrated at 25 yds and easily adjustable for W&E.

I wonder if Lasers work "both ways" like Tracers do?

My local PX only had Lasermax edition 10/22s at the time so I snatched it up for $330 otd. Once dialed in the laser is quite accurate. Definitely bright out to 50 yards. Haven't shot it any further though. Its a nice toy and seems to hold up. Not cheap feeling.

I put mine up for sale here in the marketplace. Only reason I'm selling it is because I need the funds for a Hogue stock and new barrel. Click on my link in the sig if interested

Exactly. I don't have a single laser on any of my firearms. Lasers are for movies...

I believe money is better spent on accurizing upgrades.

Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...

I just bought the Ruger Lasermax sight for my cross eye dominant son's 10/22.

                          First impressions:
On the downside, the unit has a chintzy cheap plastic feel.
For the plus sides, it installs easily and is a perfect fit for replacement of the barrel band. Holds the rife together solidly despite the plastic feel. The laser is quite bright, no problem for indoor ranges. Outdoors in full sunlight it was easy to see 25 yards out which was about as long as I could go without freaking the neighbors.

I'll sight it in this week and let the kids give it a try in a weekend or two. I'll drop back in once I get a few rounds fired with it.

Be interesting to see your range report when you get those rounds through it.
