Marlin XT-22 guys, what rings and bases?

So I've figured out that it's drilled and tapped to accept # 12 Weaver bases, what rings are you guys using for 40mm objective scopes?

    What about adapting to Picatinny?

I'm going to be mounting a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire 3-9 X 40 on top. (1" tube)

I don't want to spend top dollar, but I don't want to buy junk either.

Links (Amazon, etc.) would be much appreciated, rings and bases confuse me a bit.

    Thanks in advance.

    P-rail from DIP: http://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail....86967&CAT=3603<br />

It fits the curvature of the receiver and is specifically for a number of Marlin bolt action 22's, the XT included. I tried a couple of .22 rails that had flat bottoms, but they perched rather precariously on the receiver.

Just bought my wife an XT-22 about a month and a half ago maybe. go low profile weaver rings from Big5 for a bushnell 4x32mm.

only prob with the lo pro rings/base is that you have to take them off to remove the bolt. so maybe settle for normal height rings

Did you use bases or use tip-off style rings on the dovetail?

I used medium height tip-off rings on my XT-22. I mounted a Tasco 3-9x32. I am able to cycle just fine and remove the bolt without having to remove the scope. There is about 3mm between the scope and bolt handle when cycling. If i push up then they do touch. I am just careful when cycling.

One of mine has medium rings with a 32mm scope. The other two have high rings with larger objective diameter scopes.
ETA: Going and looking at all of my scoped Marlin rimfire rifles, it seems medium rings will work with up to a 32mm scope. After that, you need high rings.
