    Tactical Innovations 10/22 Charging Handle

I was looking at these because my daughter wants a purple one. I've read on some sites where some people have had problems with them sticking. Is this a good charging handle or would another vendor have a nice one in purple?

Also, I see some are crimped like the stock handle and some are held together with a clip. What is the clip version designed for? Thanks!

I personally like the Volksquarten charging handle. Don't know too much about the tactical innovation stuff.

No more opinions on the TI?

TI products are usually very good.
The charging handle can stick on the guide rod (usually in older 10/22s) because the slot in the bolt top that the charging handle goes into is on the small side of tolerances, so there is no "wiggle room" for the parts when everything is flexing as the action cycles.
Too tight a fit can cause problems just as too loose can.
A stroke or two with a file in the bolt slot or the charging handle front and rear sides to give some wiggle room may be needed.

The clip type guide rods are made for those folks who want to change the recoil spring rate....usually softer springs for low powered ammo / .22 short conversions or stiffer springs for heavy bullet ammo.

The clip type is more difficult to assemble than the staked type if you don't get the bolt in right the first try.
The clip type usually comes apart in the receiver if the bolt is not put in right so you have to remove it and re-clip it for each assembly try.

We have reached the point where the 10/22 rifle has been in production for nearly 50 years, there have been some changes and all parts have plus or minus tolerances.
Aftermarket parts tolerances will also vary, so the need for hand fitting will be there from time to time...regardless of part or gun brand.

Here's one from Kidd, but they don't come in purple.

Thanks guys. I ordered one of the TI purple ones. I think it's worth a shot.

Sorry to jump in on someone else's thread, but I was wondering about the Kidd ones (mentioned above my post, and below yours). Are they any good? I have some low powered .22lr ammo (some Aguila Super Colibri 20 grain that I was given by a buddy who sold his last .22) and was thinking of trying it in my brand new 10/22 (among others). Wasn't sure if it would handle it or not, but I saw the Kidd handles with the varied springs and wondered if I could maybe use it after all. Thoughts?

Colibri 20 grain won't cycle. Not enough power in there.
Subsonics should be good with a spring mod/replacement. YMMV.
There is usually some tweaking involved either way.
I change out the bolt/guide rod asembly depending on what I shoot. Subsonic or high vel.
Standard spring and the Kidd 10% less power spring are what I use.

Fits great, no binding issues. And the daughter is happy!
